Uncomfortable Truths

Sometimes you will go through shit, ask people in your support system to support you, even go the extra mile in showing them how you want to be supported. You’ll sit and wait to be supported as you continue to go through your own shit. Now, what you don't know is that life couldn't give a rat's ass that you're still dealing with your own shit. Sometimes it'll even top it up just for fun (I apologise for the visual). Life will still deal the same people you expect support from some blows. (Probably blows bigger than yours. We aren't comparing whose shit stinks more, shit is shit). They'll be unable to show up for you as you need them to. And you'll have to provide support to them as you're figuring out your own shit.  The lack of support from them is not because they don't love you or care for you, it's that they have more pressing issues. Issues that don't involve you being top on their list of priorities. I know it's a hard pill to swallow, but you just have to accept that life is like that sometimes. No amount of wishing, hoping, wanting and waiting will change things. All you have to do is accept the reality of the situation. Is this what radical acceptance is about? I'm not sure. Is this how we show emotional maturity as evolving beings? Maybe. I don't know what I/you should do next after having this information as this is how far I've got to in my reflection. Perhaps I'll have some pointers in the future that I'll share here. I know, this probably isn't the ending you expected but you have to accept it right? See what I did there? 😌
